We first met Aaliya and Altaaf the day before their wedding. The wedding planning was mostly done by their respective families. This is a challenging situation for a wedding photographer - usually by this stage we’ve been interacting with the couple for a while, hopefully we’ve even done an engagement shoot, and so the couple will feel a lot more comfortable with us putting a camera in their faces every few seconds.
Aaliya and Altaaf were good sports though, and so the awkward phase didn’t last very long.
Their wedding and reception took place at the beautifully decorated NMJ Islamic Hall in Berea. White and gold were the colours of the day, while fairy-lights lit the pathway down the middle of the hall to a lavishly decorated stage where the bride and groom took their positions.
While beautiful and insightful words were said, a bountiful dinner was set before the guests.
At the end of the night, the bride and groom had an emotional parting with their family before climbing in their wedding car and zooming off to their honeymoon.
