V&A Waterfront at night

A place can undergo a complete transformation and all that needs to happen is for the sun to set. Suddenly what was once a crazy bustle can turn into a peaceful, romantic, and sometimes eerily-quiet place.

The V&A Waterfront in Cape Town is one such place. The restaurants and the area around the big wheel can be busy, but stepping away from there leads you down darkened paths with occasional travellers. The clocktower can appear a little eerie with the ever-changing coloured lights on its roof, while the harbour seems peaceful with gentle waves bumping the sides of docked boats.

We spent a Thursday night exploring a familiar place in a new light.
